We all know how important it is when marketing and networking for people to get to know, like and trust you in order for them to think about working with you.
Have you ever thought about the fact that, very often, your online profile headshot is the first thing someone will see of you, before ever meeting you, and first impressions can be formed simply from that one shot. You need to make it mean something or you may not get another chance.
Many of you are now turning to online video and either working with professional videographers, or, creating your own videos using our phones, tablets or laptops.
Before launching into this brave new world of new and exciting ways to connect with your audience and potential clients, how many of you ever consider how best to use one of the greatest resources you have ... yourself?
Some people shy away from the very idea of a photograph - not knowing where to start, what to say or how to be and just having a real dislike of hearing and seeing themselves on camera - so early efforts can be a long way off from the friendly, honest and approachable person you truly are.
It's not only what we say but the way we say it - backed up with the non verbal signals we give with our body language - if you want people to start following your work online.
This presentation, from Penny Morgan of Penny Morgan Photography, will take you through some of the points to consider before you begin publishing ‘your story’ and ultimately give people a mirror into your soul.
Penny has always had a fascination of how we view and perceive an image. A decade as a choreographer with a local drama group and helping people to look good on stage, a further decade working as a graphic designer and then moving into the world of photography, has brought an interesting mix of skills that have now led to her desire to help people as a photographer.
Since summer 2009 she has been running Penny Morgan Photography, and the early years taught her just how many people lacked confidence being photographed and why.
Deciding that something could (and should!) be done about this, Penny set about developing the ‘Love Your Image’ program designed specifically to help people in front of the camera.
This has now expanded to developing ‘Animate Your Image’, to help people gain confidence in their presentation skills for networking and video.
The Barn Café has put together some special treats from which you can choose. And, of course, coffee, tea and juice are included.
